He began his entertainment career in the early 2000s, initially as a member of the theater troupe Func A ScamperS 009. He was later affiliated with the agency Ogi Pro THE NEXT before becoming a freelance actor.

Inoue's most prominent and career-defining role is voicing Takeshi Yamamoto in the long-running anime series Katekyo Hitman Reborn! This part brought him widespread recognition and remains a favorite among his fans.
