Haruyoshi Kobayakawa
Description
Haruyoshi Kobayakawa is a Japanese manga artist born on November 25, 1983, in Hokkaido Prefecture. He is primarily known for his work as the illustrator of the manga adaptation of the popular fantasy series Re:Monster.
Kobayakawa began his professional career as a manga artist with BlazBlue Chimerical Complex, a two-volume series based on the BlazBlue video game franchise created by Arc System Works. Following this debut, he gained wider recognition when he started illustrating Re:Monster, which became his primary ongoing work.
The Re:Monster manga, for which Kobayakawa provides the artwork, began serialization in March 2014 on the AlphaPolis manga website. The series is based on the original light novel of the same name written by Kogitsune Kanekiru, with Kobayakawa adapting the story into manga format. As of 2024, the manga has been compiled into eleven tankōbon volumes. The series is published in English in North America by Seven Seas Entertainment, with the first volume released in November 2016.
In the production of Re:Monster, Kobayakawa holds the role of manga artist or illustrator, working from the source material created by the original author. The series falls within the seinen demographic, targeting adult and young adult readers. His artistic style has been described as stylish with fast-paced illustrations. Kobayakawa's work on the manga contributed to the broader Re:Monster franchise, which expanded to include an anime television series adaptation produced by Studio Deen that aired from April to June 2024.
Beyond Re:Monster, Kobayakawa has not been widely credited with other major manga series, with his bibliography consisting primarily of this ongoing adaptation alongside his earlier work on BlazBlue Chimerical Complex. His career reflects a specialization in adapting existing properties into manga form rather than creating original stories.
