Kenta Ishizaka is a Japanese manga artist known for creating the series Zatsu Tabi -That's Journey-. This work represents his most prominent and sustained contribution to the industry, serving as both the original creator and author of the manga, which has been serialized in ASCII Media Works' seinen manga magazine Dengeki Maoh since March 27, 2019. The series follows a college student and aspiring manga artist who embarks on spontaneous trips across Japan, finding inspiration and new connections along the way. As of June 2025, the manga has been compiled into thirteen tankōbon volumes, with a spin-off series, Zatsu Tabi: Another Side View – Hasunuma Koyomi no Nichijō, illustrated by Meidosuki, also being serialized.
Ishizaka’s career as a creator extends beyond this series. Prior to Zatsu Tabi, he was credited as the artist for AKB0048 Uchuu de Ichiban Gachi na Yatsu!, a manga adaptation connected to the AKB0048 multimedia project, which was published in 2012. Another work attributed to him is Tenshi-chan to Akuma-kun, a comedy manga that also ran in Dengeki Maoh around 2013.
The success of Zatsu Tabi led to its adaptation into an anime television series. The adaptation was announced in May 2023 and produced by the animation studio Makaria. The series aired from April to June 2025, directed by Masaharu Watanabe with series composition by Yoshiko Nakamura. Ishizaka is officially credited as the original creator for the anime.
