Mikihisa Konishi is a Japanese manga artist known for creating action and supernatural works. His full name in Japanese is 小西 幹久, which is read as Konishi Mikihisa. He is the writer and illustrator behind the ongoing manga series Petals of Reincarnation, which began serialization in Mag Garden's Monthly Comic Blade magazine on May 30, 2014. The series later moved to the Comic Blade website before continuing on the Mag Comi platform from December 2015. As of February 2025, the series has been collected into twenty-one tankobon volumes and has over three million copies in circulation. An anime television series adaptation was announced in August 2024 and is scheduled to premiere in 2026, with Benten Film producing the animation. The story follows a protagonist who gains extraordinary talents by reincarnating as historical figures, a premise that explores themes of talent, inferiority, and identity. Konishi studied manga at Bunsei University of Art and began his professional career in 2011 with the series Suashi no Meteorite, also known as Divine Meteor or Barefoot Meteorite, which was published in Monthly Comic Blade and ran until 2012, concluding with five volumes. His works are characterized by dark action sequences and morally complex protagonists who struggle with self-worth. Petals of Reincarnation is published digitally in English by Mangamo, and French-language editions are released by Komikku éditions. The upcoming anime adaptation is expected to bring his work to a wider international audience, with HIDIVE confirmed as the streaming platform and exclusive co-producer for the 2026 release.
