Umika is the original creator behind the anime and manga series Head Start at Birth, known in Japanese as 0-Saiji Start Dash Monogatari. As a writer, Umika authored the original web novel, which was serialized on the user-generated novel publishing website Shōsetsuka ni Narō from September 2019 to July 2021. This web novel serves as the foundation for a multimedia franchise.

The property has been adapted into multiple formats. A manga adaptation, illustrated by Reku Hayase, began serialization in September 2020 through Shusuisha’s Shōjo Sengen digital magazine and has been compiled into eight tankōbon volumes. A light novel version, also featuring illustrations by Reku Hayase, was published digitally under the Shōjo Sengen Novel imprint in September 2023. An anime television series adaptation followed, with the first season airing from July to September 2024 and a second season airing from January to March 2025. The story centers on a protagonist reincarnated as an infant in another world who retains memories of her past life as a gamer, applying that knowledge to master magic from a very young age.
