Yōsuke Tokino is a Japanese author known primarily as the creator of light novel series, many of which have been adapted into manga and anime. Tokino’s career as a writer began with the publication of web novels, with early works surfacing around 2016. Among the first credited series is Cheat Code de Ore TUEEE na Isekai Tabi, a light novel published that year. This was followed by a steady output of titles, including Seichou Cheat de Nandemo Dekiru you ni Natta ga, Mushoku dake wa Yamerarenai you desu, which began in 2016 and has become one of Tokino’s longer-running series. Another notable work from this period is Isekai de Item Collector, which started in 2016 as well.

Tokino is most widely recognized for the series The Unaware Atelier Master, known in Japanese as Kanchigai no Atorie Maisutā: Eiyū Pāti no Moto Zatsuyōgakari ga, Jitsu wa Sentō Igai ga SSS Ranku Datta to Iu Yoku Aru Hanashi. The original story began serialization online in August 2018 on the AlphaPolis platform. A light novel edition, illustrated by Zounoze, followed in March 2019 under the same publisher, AlphaPolis, and has since been released in multiple volumes. The series proved popular enough to generate a manga adaptation, which began serialization in December 2019 with art by Naharu Furukawa. An anime television series adaptation produced by EMT Squared premiered in April 2025, and a second season was subsequently announced. The English version of the manga is distributed digitally under the Alpha Manga label.

Beyond The Unaware Atelier Master, Tokino’s body of work is extensive within the light novel format, with many titles published by AlphaPolis. These works include Gacha ni Yudaneru Isekai Haijin Seikatsu from 2017, Mujintou Dungeon Keiei from 2020, and Okashi to Koucha to Isekai Shoukan!? from 2021. Several of these titles have also received manga adaptations. Tokino’s creative output primarily falls within the fantasy and isekai genres, often featuring protagonists with unique or underestimated skill sets that lead to significant achievements. The narratives frequently center on themes of self-discovery and the unexpected consequences of abilities that are not directly combat-related, a pattern strongly exemplified by the premise of The Unaware Atelier Master, where the main character excels in non-combat roles. Tokino’s work has gained industry significance through the successful multi-format expansion of these properties, transitioning from web novels to print, manga, and anime adaptations, thereby reaching a broad audience across different media.
