Reviewers have noted an art evolution throughout the series, with Sakamoto solidifying his style during its run. The series stands as a significant work in Sakamoto's career, demonstrating a successful transition from a one-shot concept to a long-running serialized property that garnered international licensing and a full anime adaptation.
