This success was followed by the creation of several other long-running series.

Among his notable original works is the light novel series Chaika - The Coffin Princess, which he wrote with illustrations by Namaniku ATK. When the first Polyphonica anime was produced, Sakaki took on the roles of series composition and scriptwriting, marking his entry into direct work on anime productions. He continued to work on the sequel series, Polyphonica Crimson S. His other anime credits include the original work and series composition for the OVA Strait Jacket, based on his own novel series, as well as scriptwriting for the Devil May Cry anime. He also served as the original creator and series composer for the anime CODE-E and its sequel MISSION-E.

Beyond his writing, Sakaki has been involved in nurturing new talent as a lecturer at the Osaka Animation School and has co-founded the creative group IMAGING FOREST to provide original concepts for various media. His long and varied career has seen him publish across a vast number of imprints, from Fujimi Fantasia Bunko to MF Bunko J, and his works have been released internationally in multiple languages.
