Chiaki Kanou

Chiaki Kanou is a Japanese voice actress, or seiyuu, born on November 10, 1970, in Aichi Prefecture, Japan. She is affiliated with the talent management firm Arts Vision, having previously been represented by Office PAC. Her blood type is O. Kanou has been active in the voice acting industry since the 2000s. Her career encompasses a range of roles in anime, video games, and foreign language dubbing for films and television dramas. In anime, she is known for providing the voice of Ms. Urushira in the 2014 television series The Pilot's Love Song. She also voiced the character Aki Kodai, known as Aki Taylor in some localizations, in the 2007 anime series Dinosaur King. A more recent prominent role is voicing the Commander in the 2023 anime adaptation NieR:Automata Ver1.1a. Beyond anime, Kanou's voice work extends to video games. She is credited with voicing the character Yoruha in the 2017 game Nier: Automata and the role of Shamia Lavilavil in the 2008 game Armored Core: For Answer. She has also been active in the field of voice-over dubbing for foreign media. Her dubbing credits include providing the Japanese voice for Teresa Lisbon in the television drama The Mentalist, Midge Daniels in Mad Men, and Elsa in the film The Day After Tomorrow. Her work on dubbing projects also includes a role in the television series Knight Rider Next and the film Marionette Game.
