Piyo

Description
The creator known as Piyo is a Japanese manga artist primarily recognized as the illustrator for the manga series Teekyū. Piyo began serializing Teekyū, a sports comedy series written by the author Roots, on February 10, 2012, in the monthly manga magazine Comic Earth Star, which is published by Earth Star Entertainment. The title of the series is a pun on the Japanese word for tennis. The series follows the absurd and fast-paced daily lives of four girls who are members of their high school tennis club, though the plot rarely focuses on the sport itself.

Piyo continued to work with the writer Roots to expand the Teekyū universe through several spin-off manga projects. One such spin-off is Takamiya Nasuno Desu!, which Piyo also illustrated. This series focuses on the daily life of the wealthy and eccentric character Nasuno Takamiya and was serialized in Comic Earth Star from April 12, 2014, to October 8, 2015, eventually being compiled into two tankōbon volumes. Another spin-off is Usakame, which centers on the characters who are opponents of the main Teekyū cast. For this series, Piyo is credited only with the original character designs, while the illustration was handled by Jūzō Kirisawa.

The manga series Teekyū gained significant notoriety for its remarkably rapid adaptation into an anime television series. According to its publisher, Earth Star Entertainment, it holds the record for the fastest manga-to-anime adaptation. The first anime season premiered on October 7, 2012, a mere eight months after the manga's debut. The anime was directed by Shin Itagaki, with the first three seasons produced by the studio MAPPA and subsequent seasons produced by Millepensee. The anime, like the manga, is known for its extremely short episodes, typically running for only two minutes each. The Teekyū anime eventually spanned nine seasons. The spin-off manga Takamiya Nasuno Desu! also received a twelve-episode anime adaptation in 2015, produced by Millepensee. The Usakame spin-off similarly received a twelve-episode anime adaptation in 2016.
