Kotoko
Description
Kotoko is an original creator known for authoring light novels and manga in the isekai romance genre. Born in Hyogo Prefecture and based in Tokyo, Kotoko was influenced in childhood by the nonsensical worldviews of old gag comics and the extreme expressions and bold narratives of Showa-era shojo manga. Kotoko creates work centered on an affection for human foolishness and absurdity, drawing inspiration from amusing moments and subtle anomalies in everyday life to surrealistically depict the unreality lurking next to reality.
Kotoko began publishing the story I Was Reincarnated as the Heroine on the Verge of a Bad Ending, and I'm Determined to Fall in Love! in 2021 on the Shosetsuka ni Naro website. The light novel was launched in January 2022, with an initial illustrator credited as Tsukasa Satsuki and later volumes illustrated by Kei Kumanomi. A manga adaptation of the work began in June 2022, and Kotoko is credited as the author of the original manga as well. The series has been licensed for English publication by TOKYOPOP. An anime adaptation of I Was Reincarnated as the Heroine on the Verge of a Bad Ending, and I'm Determined to Fall in Love! has been announced.
