Monshō Sakakibara
Description
Monshō Sakakibara is the original creator of the Japanese web novel series Majutsu o Kiwamete Tabi ni Deta Tensei Elf, Moteamashita Jumyō de Ikeru Densetsu to Naru. Sakakibara began serializing this story on the Kadokawa Corporation-operated online platform Kakuyomu on July 24, 2021. The series follows the protagonist, Minoru Kido, a thirty-year-old Japanese salaryman who dies in a traffic accident and is reincarnated as an elf named Liese Klein in a fantasy world, where he vows to use his race's thousand-year lifespan to master magic and leave his mark on history.
Sakakibara's original web novel was later adapted into a light novel published under Starts Publishing's Grast Novels imprint. Released on December 23, 2022, the light novel was retitled Tensei Elf ni Yoru 900-Nen no Yūkyū Slow Life and features illustrations by Hatori Kyoka. The story was subsequently adapted into a manga series, with Sakakibara credited as the original writer. The manga is illustrated by Kanco and began serialization in Starts Publishing's online magazine Comic Grast on May 12, 2023. As of November 2025, five tankōbon volumes of the manga have been released. An anime television series adaptation based on Sakakibara's original work was announced on November 19, 2025.
