Teniwoha
Description
Teniwoha, also known by the pen name Orikawa Seigo, is a Japanese creator whose work spans music, novels, and anime. Born on August 23 in Hiroshima Prefecture, he adopted his name from the Japanese term for grammatical particles, drawn to the word's mysterious quality and its uniqueness as a creator alias. His career began in the Vocaloid music scene, where he gained recognition as a producer of songs that frequently center on mystery and supernatural themes. Among his notable music series are the Mononoke Mystery series, which received a manga adaptation, and the Jougakusei Tantei (Schoolgirl Detective) series, which expanded into audio drama albums and a short light novel series. Beyond his work with Vocaloid software, Teniwoha composed the song Gira Gira for the popular singer Ado and contributed the first ending theme for the short anime series Yamishibai.
Teniwoha is also an established novelist and is the creator behind the light novel series Killed Again, Mr. Detective? The series, published under Kadokawa's MF Bunko J imprint, began in August 2021 and follows a high school detective named Sakuya Outsuki who possesses the unusual ability to return to life after being murdered, working alongside his assistant Lilithea to solve mysteries. The series has been adapted into a manga illustrated by Inaba, which was serialized from July 2022 to March 2024. A television anime adaptation of Killed Again, Mr. Detective? is scheduled to premiere in April 2026, with animation production by Liden Films.
Across his various creative endeavors, Teniwoha is recognized for a consistent artistic identity rooted in mystery, Japanese folklore, and intricate wordplay. His lyrics and writing are noted for their rich vocabulary, use of homophones and puns, and references to classical and modern literature. His musical style is similarly eclectic, blending Japanese-inspired rock with elements of pop, metal, and other genres. Teniwoha's work demonstrates a recurring fascination with detective fiction, supernatural beings, and complex character dynamics, often weaving these elements into narratives that balance intellectual puzzles with strong emotional or atmospheric storytelling. His ability to move between composing hit songs for major artists and originating multi-platform media franchises marks him as a versatile figure in contemporary Japanese pop culture.
