Matt Wilkinson is an English voice artist, actor, playwright, and director known for his extensive work in animation, video games, and commercial voiceovers. He trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) and has been active in the entertainment industry since 1995. In the realm of anime and animated series, Wilkinson is recognized for his role as Ryotaro Ichijōin in the English dub of the Netflix anime series Love Through a Prism, which premiered in 2026. In this series, he voices the character of Lili Ichijōin's father, a supportive kimono maker from Yokohama.

Beyond this anime role, Wilkinson has a prolific career in voice acting for various British and international animated productions. He is particularly well-known for his contributions to the long-running children's series Thomas & Friends, where he has voiced over twenty different characters across both the UK and US dubs. His roles on that show include Spencer, Diesel 10, Rocky, Victor, Kevin, Cranky, Stanley, Charlie, Rusty, Winston, and Merrick, among others. Other significant animation voice credits include Weasel in Watership Down, the title role in Bunny Maloney, and characters in shows like, The Adventures of Bottle Top Bill and His Best Friend Corky, Empire Square,, and Trust Me I'm a Genie. He also voiced Fastanfurius in the English cast of the 2025 Netflix film Asterix & Obelix: The Big Fight.

In the video game industry, his voice can be heard as Murmur in Hellgate: London, Felix Jaeger and Gor-Rok in Total War: Warhammer II, and Alexander the Great in Total War: Arena, among other titles. Wilkinson has also appeared in live-action film and television, with roles in movies such as V for Vendetta, About a Boy, Ali G Indahouse, and The Tichborne Claimant, as well as TV series like The Bill and Shackleton. Beyond performing, he is an accomplished playwright and director. He has written and directed several stage productions, including Sun is Shining, My Eyes Went Dark, and Psychodrama, which have been performed in London, New York, and at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. In 2024, he directed the UK premiere of Adam Rapp's Tony-nominated play The Sound Inside at the Traverse Theatre as part of the Edinburgh Fringe.
