Nanigashi Shima is the author of the Japanese light novel series Love Unseen Beneath the Clear Night Sky. This work, illustrated by raemz, began publication under SB Creative's GA Bunko imprint in August 2023. Nanigashi Shima is a graduate of the Faculty of Ocean Engineering at the Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology, and the story is set on the university's Etchujima campus and its surrounding areas.

The light novel Love Unseen Beneath the Clear Night Sky won the grand prize at the 15th GA Bunko Award. It also ranked third in the general new titles category of the guidebook Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! 2024. A sequel novel, titled Gokusai no Yoru ni Kakeru Kimi to, Me ni Mienai Koi wo Shita, was released in August 2024. Nanigashi Shima and illustrator raemz have also collaborated on the related novel Yoru ga Aketara Asa ga Kuru, which was released in August 2024, as well as a spin-off titled Asa ga Kuru Made Yoru wa Matsu, released in March 2025.

A manga adaptation of Love Unseen Beneath the Clear Night Sky, illustrated by Hat., began serialization on Square Enix's Manga Up! service in August 2024. The first compiled tankōbon volume was published in July 2025. An anime television adaptation of the light novel is scheduled to premiere in July 2026. The anime is directed by Joe Yoshizaki and produced by the animation studio MAKARIA, with series composition by Yuko Kakihara. The English version of the light novel is licensed and published by Yen Press.
