Kanato Watai is a Japanese male voice actor born on February 18 in Tochigi Prefecture. He is affiliated with the talent agency AXL ONE, having become a trainee affiliate of the agency on April 1, 2017. He stands 177cm tall with AB blood type.

Watai's career in voice acting began in the late 2010s. His debut role was as a delinquent (Best) in the television anime series Hitorijime My Hero. He has stated that his motivation to become a voice actor came from admiring the work of Toshiyuki Morikawa, specifically his Japanese dubbing for Tom Cruise in the Mission: Impossible film series.

Throughout the 2020s, Watai has built a portfolio of supporting and guest roles in numerous anime series. In 2021, he appeared as a merchant in Restaurant to Another World 2 and as a bald man in I've Been Killing Slimes for 300 Years and Maxed Out My Level. The following year, he took on roles such as a rabbit-masked character in Rust-Eater Bisco and an adventurer in The Beast Tamer Who Got Kicked Out From the Hero’s Party Meets a Cat Girl From the Strongest Race.

One of his more prominent roles came in 2023 when he voiced the character Kirisu in the fantasy series Giant Beasts of Ars. That same year, he also appeared as a high-ranking monster and a priest in Goblin Slayer II, a retainer in The Sacrificial Princess and the King of Beasts, and a police officer in Ron Kamonohashi's Forbidden Deductions. Other 2023 credits include roles in Spy Classroom and THE MARGINAL SERVICE.

In 2024, Watai continued to take on a variety of roles. He voiced a young man in the long-running series Doraemon and the deputy director in The Dangers in My Heart season 2. He also played the character Dario in The Unwanted Undead Adventurer and a store clerk in That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime season 3.

His voice work extends to film and video games. He appeared in the 2017 theatrical film Black Butler: Book of the Atlantic and the 2021 film Farewell, My Dear Cramer: First Touch. His game credits include the role of Naozumi Hinas**** in Da Capo 4 and a role in Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris.

Regarding his skills and qualifications, Watai holds certificates in calligraphy (semi-fourth dan), kendo (first dan), and has a standard driver's license. His vocal range is from low B to mid-second G.
