Alvarez began her performance career with extensive training in dance, studying ballet, contemporary, lyrical, jazz, tap, and hip-hop from an early age. Her television debut came with a role as Havana on the Showtime series Kidding, starring Jim Carrey, a part she played across two seasons. In 2024, Alvarez was selected as one of ten actors for the Sony Pictures Diverse Actors Program, a initiative led by casting executive Amanda Richards that provided training on the Sony Pictures lot. She was also a member of the cast for Disney's Club Mickey Mouse as one of the new Mouseketeers.
