Eugene Lee Yang

Description
Eugene Lee Yang is a producer, actor, director, writer, and former digital creator known for his work with BuzzFeed and as a co-founder of the comedy group The Try Guys. He formally departed from The Try Guys in 2024 to focus on independent artistic ventures, including voice acting.

As a voice actor, Yang is known for his role in the Star Wars: Visions anthology series. In Volume 2, he provides the English voice for the character Toul in the episode titled Journey to the Dark Head, which was released on Disney Plus on May 4, 2023. The short was animated by the South Korean studio Studio Mir and depicts a Jedi Padawan struggling with temptation from the dark side while on a mission during an ancient war between the Jedi and the Sith. In this episode, Yang voices the English dub of Toul, who is originally voiced by Lee Kyung Tae in the Korean version. The role placed him opposite Daniel Dae Kim, who voices the Sith Lord Bichan.

Another major role in Yang's voice acting career is in the Netflix animated film Nimona, which was released in the summer of 2023. In this film, he voices Ambrosius Goldenloin, a knight and the love interest of the framed knight Ballister Boldheart, voiced by Riz Ahmed. The film also features voice performances from Chloë Grace Moretz, RuPaul, Indya Moore, and Julio Torres. Yang has stated in interviews that he actively sought voice acting work and that his casting in Nimona came about through auditioning for the role. His approach to the character was informed by the directors' desire for him to infuse the role with his own perspective.

His other voice credits include a role in the animated film春花 (Chun Hua). While best known for his on-camera work and producing viral digital content, Yang has established a presence in animation voiceover, with his roles in Nimona and Star Wars: Visions representing significant early credits in this area of his career.
