Yong-woo Shin
Description
Shin Yong-woo is a South Korean voice actor born on March 19, 1976. He came from a voice acting academy before passing the Tooniverse broadcast station exam, making his debut as an exclusive voice actor for the network in 2003. After working as an exclusive voice actor for a period, he later transitioned to working as a freelancer.
Throughout his career, Shin has become known for his wide vocal range, taking on roles that span from young boys and teenagers to middle-aged and elderly characters. He has voiced numerous prominent roles in Korean dubs of major anime series. These include Ichigo Kurosaki in Bleach, Neji Hyuga in Naruto and Naruto Shippūden, Shoto Todoroki in My Hero Academia, Kaito Kid in Detective Conan, Kyoya Ohtori in Ouran High School Host Club, Johann Liebert in Monster, Matsuno Osomatsu in Osomatsu-san, and Cadis Etrama Di Raizel in Noblesse. His work also extends to video games, where he is notably the voice of Jumin Han in the popular otome game Mystic Messenger. In the competitive gaming sphere, he voiced the character Reaper for the Korean version of Overwatch.
In the Star Wars franchise, Shin Yong-woo provided his voice for the animated anthology series Star Wars: Visions. In the episode titled Journey to the Dark Head, which was released on Disney+ as part of Volume 2 in 2023, he voiced the characters Master Leesagum and a Shopkeeper.
Beyond his recording work, Shin Yong-woo is known for his long-running web radio show titled Over The Radio, which he co-hosts with fellow voice actor Hong Bum-ki.
