Description
Hunter McCoy is an American voice actor, live stage actor, and stunt performer known for work in animation, video games, and audiobooks. They are non-binary and use they/he pronouns. Based in Los Angeles, California, McCoy grew up in Cary, North Carolina, after being born in Manassas, Virginia. A lifelong enthusiast of anime, video games, and tabletop role-playing games, McCoy discovered a passion for performance at a young age, appearing in community plays starting at age four. Initially aspiring to become a concept artist or programmer, they ultimately pursued acting, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts (UNCSA), from which they graduated in 2024. During their time at UNCSA, McCoy supplemented their stage training with voiceover lessons and stunt work, becoming trained as an actor combatant with the Society of American Fight Directors and the International Stunt School. Shortly after graduating, McCoy moved to Los Angeles and signed with CESD, a talent agency.

McCoy began voice acting professionally around April 2020, initially working on fan dubs, indie games, podcasts, and audiobooks before transitioning to major studio productions. Their most prominent anime voice role to date is Deuce Spade in the English dub of Disney Twisted-Wonderland The Animation: Episode of Heartslabyul. The series, an adaptation of the popular mobile game, premiered in October 2025 with a same-day English dub produced by NYAV Post under the direction of Michael Sinterniklaas. As Deuce Spade, a serious but disorganized first-year student at Night Raven College who once reformed his delinquent ways, McCoy voices a main character in the first season of the adaptation. The cast also includes Jonathan Ha, Paul Castro Jr., Max Mittelman, Ben Diskin, and J. Michael Tatum. An interview conducted with McCoy about their work on the series and their broader voice acting career confirms their involvement with the production.

Beyond their work on Twisted-Wonderland, McCoy maintains an active stage career. Recent university theatre credits include roles in John Proctor Is The Villain, This Is Our Youth, As You Like It: The Musical, Dangerous Corner, Amadeus, Heathers: The Musical, and The Miser. They have also performed stunt work and on-camera roles involving prosthetic makeup for various film projects. McCoy has cited their experiences with voiceover casting workshops as valuable in demystifying the audition process, and they have expressed a professional goal of taking on a lead role in a superhero film or performance capture for a video game.
