Ru Thing is a Chinese-Japanese voice actress born on December 21, 1993. She was born in the People's Republic of China and was raised in Osaka Prefecture, later graduating from the Japan Narration Actor Institute. She is affiliated with the talent agency I'm Enterprise.

Her voice acting career began in 2013, with her first major role being Rishuri Maezono in the Tokyo 7th Sisters rhythm game. In 2015, she was cast as Syuko Shiomi in The Idolmaster Cinderella Girls, a role that became a defining part of her career. She has reprised this role across various media, including the second season of the Cinderella Girls anime adaptation and The Idolmaster Cinderella Girls Theater. Her work as Syuko Shiomi extended to music, with her character single Ao no Ichibanhoshi charting on the Oricon Singles Chart for 19 weeks and peek at number thirteen. She also performed on Cute jewelries! 003, the first album from a game franchise to top the Oricon Albums Chart.

Beyond her work in The Idolmaster franchise, Ru Thing has voiced characters in numerous other anime and video games. Her anime roles include minor parts in series such as Oreshura, Love Live! Sunshine!!, The Morose Mononokean, Selection Project, Idolish7, and Magical Destroyers. In video games, her roles include Haze and Firewatch in Arknights, Rei Takanashi and Misaki Kagome in Alice Gear Aegis, and a character in Persona 5: The Phantom X. She has also participated in internet programs, such as a broadcast with Larissa Tago Takeda called Rari Lu ReLo.
