Ryōsuke Higa
Description
Ryōsuke Higa is a Japanese voice actor born in Tokyo on November 8, 1995, and affiliated with the talent agency Atomic Monkey. He was inspired to pursue a career in voice acting as a child after watching the anime series Beast Wars. To achieve this goal, he attended the voice acting and broadcast course at the Akihabara IT Campus of Clark Memorial International High School while also studying at the Atomic Monkey Voice & Acting Laboratory, from which he graduated as part of the eighth cohort. He first entered the industry while still in high school, making his debut as a voice actor in 2011 with the role of Johnny Sakurabayashi in the video game Meikyuu Cross Blood Reloaded. He officially became a签约艺人 with Atomic Monkey in April 2016. Early in his career, he received an award at the first national Seiyu Tamashii voice acting competition in 2013.
Higa has built a career taking on a wide range of characters across anime, video games, and film dubbing. In anime television, he is known for his role as Fukurokku, a mazin creature and partner character, in the 2021 series Mazica Party. He also voices the character Jirōbō Enkazan in the series Tonari no Yōkai-san. His other anime credits include appearances in long-running and popular franchises such as Doraemon, Re:Zero - Starting Life in Another World, The Seven Deadly Sins, Platinum End, KonoSuba, Oshi no Ko, and Kaiju No. 8. More recently, he has taken on the role of Atsushi Higashifushimi in the series Gamera -Rebirth- and the role of the Leviathan's Captain in the series Leviathan, as well as the role of Grandfather in Chi's Sweet Summer Vacation.
Beyond television anime, his work demonstrates considerable versatility. He has lent his voice to characters in major video game series including Atelier, Pokémon, Monster Hunter, and Persona 5. His dubbing work also extends to live-action films, where he has provided the Japanese voice for characters in international movies such as Spider-Man: No Way Home and Fly Me to the Moon. In addition, he has worked on numerous audio books for Amazon Audible and provided narration for corporate videos and documentaries. Outside of his professional work, his hobbies include swimming and football, and he is known as a supporter of the FC Tokyo football club.
