Ai Mikami

Description
Ai Mikami is a Japanese actress known primarily for her work in live-action film and television, but she made her debut as a voice actor in anime in 2026. Born in Tokyo on October 26, 2000, she began training in ballet at the age of three and continued until she was eighteen. Her interest in the entertainment industry grew during her sophomore year of junior high school after her parents, who are avid theatergoers, took her to a performance. She later joined the drama club in high school and went on to enroll at the training school of the agency Watanabe Entertainment, making her television debut as an actress in 2019. Mikami has since built a substantial career in Japanese dramas and films, earning her first lead role in a television drama in 2022 and being cast as the lead in the 2026 NHK Asadora morning drama Kaze, Kaoru.

While Mikami is not primarily an anime voice actor, she has ventured into voice work for animated projects. Her first voice acting role came in 2026 when she was cast as the female lead, Rita, in the theatrical anime adaptation of Hiroshi Sakurazaka's novel All You Need Is Kill. This film, produced by Studio 4°C, retells the story of a time-looping battle against alien invaders from Rita's perspective. In this production, she voiced the character opposite Natsuki Hanae, who played the male lead, Keiji.

Mikami has also been involved in several projects that are adaptations of animated or manga properties, but in live-action form. She played the role of Yukina in the 2023 Netflix live-action adaptation of the classic manga and anime series Yu Yu Hakusho. In this series, her character is a young woman being held captive by a criminal gang. She is also set to appear in the 2026 Netflix live-action adaptation of the webtoon Viral Hit. In this series, she portrays the character Aki Yashio, known as Eul Ga in the original source material.
