Ittoku Kishibe
Description
Ittoku Kishibe is a Japanese actor and musician whose primary career has been in live-action film and television rather than in anime voice acting. He was born on January 9, 1947, in Kyoto, Japan. Before becoming an actor, he was a professional musician, achieving fame as the bassist for the popular 1960s Japanese rock band The Tigers. After the band's解散, he transitioned to acting in the mid-1970s and has since built a substantial career.
In his film career, he has played numerous supporting and lead roles. He won the Japanese Academy Award for Best Actor for his performance in the 1990 film The Sting of Death and has received multiple nominations for Best Supporting Actor. He is widely known for his long-running role as Akira Kanbara in the popular television drama series Doctor X.
While Kishibe is not primarily an anime voice actor, he has performed some voice roles for characters in films. Consistent with the examples provided, he played the role of Toshio Fukushima in the 1983 live-action film adaptation of The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, not in an anime series. He also played Tanuki Fukuda in the 1998 live-action film Shark Skin Man and Peach Hip Girl. His role as a cafe owner appears in the 1994 film Rampo, and he played the Emperor in the 2001 live-action film Onmyoji. Based on available records, his work as a voice actor for animated productions is extremely limited, with no notable or recurring roles in anime.
