Kai Atō, born Kōichi Atō on November 14, 1946, was a Japanese actor and television personality whose career spanned from 1970 to 2015. While he was primarily known for his extensive work in live-action film and television, his filmography includes several voice acting credits. Atō passed away on November 15, 2015, at the age of 69.

Atō built a prolific list of screen credits, appearing in numerous acclaimed films. In 1973, he played the role of a Henchman in the live-action film Lady Snowblood. He also appeared as Mr. Baba in the 1985 film Be-Bop Highschool. One of his later and most notable roles for international audiences came in the 2005 live-action comedy Cromartie High: The Movie, where he appeared as a character also named Kai Atō. His English voice in the dub of Cromartie High: The Movie was provided by voice actor Dan Woren. Atō continued to act throughout the 2000s and 2010s in films such as Another Heaven, Deadball, and Nemurihime: Dream On Dreamer. In terms of pure voice acting work, he provided the voice for a character named Al in the 1985 anime film Penguin's Memory: Shiawase Monogatari. While his career was deeply rooted in live-action performance, his contributions to the screen included these notable voice and character roles.
