Miyuki Nakayama

Description
Miyuki Nakayama is a Japanese manga artist and illustrator known for creating several series that blend slice-of-life comedy with distinctive character dynamics. Nakayama made her debut as a serialized creator with the four-panel comedy manga Blend S, which began publication in Houbunsha's Manga Time Kirara Carat magazine in October 2013. The series, which follows the staff of a café where employees adopt character roles to serve customers, ran for eight compiled volumes and received a television anime adaptation in 2017, for which Nakayama served as the original creator.

Following the success of Blend S, Nakayama continued to develop new series across different publishing houses. In 2021, she began serializing Shota Oni, a boys' love manga, on NTT Solmare's Comic Seymour website under Square Enix's Gangan BLiss imprint. The series centers on an elementary school boy named Tsubaki and his feelings for his high school-aged childhood friend Yu, exploring themes of devotion and personal growth. The manga has been collected into six volumes as of March 2025 and won the Best Next Generation (Newcomer) award at the Chil-Chil BL Awards in 2022. A television anime adaptation was announced alongside the release of the sixth volume.

Nakayama's body of work also includes Spirits & Cat Ears, another series listed among her credited manga creations. Her artistic identity is closely tied to the slice-of-life and comedy genres, though her work on Shota Oni demonstrates a range extending into boys' love narratives. Nakayama's contributions to the industry include not only her original serializations but also occasional illustration work, such as providing end card illustrations for anime productions like the second season of Is the order a rabbit??.
