Scarlet Cavadenti
Description
Scarlet Cavadenti is a German voice actor and actress, recognized for her extensive work in dubbing international productions for the German-speaking market. Born on March 8, 1965, in Munich, she began her career in voice acting at the age of eight, often working alongside her younger brother, Manou Lubowski, who also became a voice actor and actor. After completing her secondary education, she moved to Italy to study literature and linguistics, where she also took acting classes.
Cavadenti's first major voice role, and one of her most iconic, was providing the German voice for the title character in the beloved anime series Maya the Bee (originally aired 1975-1979). This early success established her as a prominent figure in German dubbing. She is, however, most widely known for her long-standing role as Jessie, the female member of Team Rocket, in the German version of the Pokémon anime. She has voiced the character continuously since the series began airing in Germany in 1999, forming a well-known trio with her colleagues who voice James and Meowth. This role has made her voice familiar to multiple generations of Pokémon fans across numerous series and films. While she has been a constant presence for Jessie in the television series, her work on the Pokémon films has been more intermittent due to her residence in Italy, though she has returned to the role for many of the movie installments when recording schedules align. Her film credits include Jessie in titles such as Pokémon the Movie: The Power of Us, Pokémon the Movie: I Choose You!, Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution, and Pokémon the Movie: Secrets of the Jungle.
Beyond her defining roles in anime, Cavadenti's career spans a wide range of genres. In the 1990s, she became the German voice for Gabrielle in the live-action series Xena: Warrior Princess and for Libby Chessler in Sabrina the Teenage Witch. She also contributed to the German adaptation of the magical girl anime Sailor Moon, voicing several characters including the villainesses Kathryn/Papillon, Byruit, and Doubt. Her voice work extends to live-action film dubbing, where she has voiced actresses such as Salma Hayek and Alyssa Milano in various films during the 1990s. In addition to on-screen work, she has been active in audio plays, notably as the voice of Heidi in a 1978 series and as Gaby Glockner in several episodes of the popular TKKG detective series.
