Charles Glover is an American actor and voice actor who has been active in Japan. He was born on July 20, 1962, in New Mexico, USA. Before pursuing acting, he developed an interest in music and worked as a radio DJ at his local high school station. He earned a degree in fine arts from New Mexico State University before moving on to New York University, where he received a master’s degree in theater from the university’s graduate acting program. Following his education, he served as an English instructor in Micronesia with the Peace Corps.

Glover’s voice acting career includes roles in several animated productions, with a notable long-running association with the detective series Case Closed, also known as Detective Conan. In 2001, he voiced the character Ray Curtis in the television anime adaptation. He later contributed to the franchise’s theatrical films, playing Mark Aidan in Detective Conan: The Fist of Sapphire in 2019 and Alan MacKenzie in Detective Conan: The Scarlet Bullet in 2021. Outside of the Case Closed franchise, his film work includes the role of Enoch in the 2021 film Prisoners of the Ghostland.

In live-action cinema, he is recognized for his role as Ambassador Kenneth Lansing in the 2016 Japanese film Shin Godzilla. His performance in this film stands as one of his most prominent credits for international audiences.

Beyond anime and film, Glover has an extensive career as a narrator. He has been the narrator for numerous programs on the Japanese international broadcaster NHK-World, including shows such as Kabuki Kool and Dining With the Chef. He has also served as a presenter for the travel documentary series Journeys in Japan. His voice work extends to commercial advertising for major corporations including Panasonic, Mitsubishi Motors, and Seiko, as well as video game projects.

In addition to his performance career, Glover is also an accomplished photographer, having won several awards and held solo exhibitions of his work.
