Eiko Hanawa
Description
Eiko Hanawa is a Japanese voice actress from Kanagawa Prefecture, born on November 25. She is affiliated with the talent agency Aksent and has blood type B. Hanawa graduated from the Faculty of Education at Yokohama National University and also completed studies at a video technology institute. She was originally a member of the agency Art Group before leaving on March 31, 2016, and joining Aksent the following day. Her debut voice acting role was in a Korean drama dub. In 2010, she won the bronze award at the Aksent Narration Contest, followed by an honorable mention in the same contest in 2011.
Hanawa has built a career primarily supporting characters in anime, foreign film dubs, and video games. Her television anime credits include the queen in Princess Principal, a chief guard in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean, the landlord in ODDTAXI, Kurihara's mother in Didn't I Say to Make My Abilities Average in the Next Life?!, and a principal in Girls Band Cry. In 2023, she voiced Eguchi in Dog Signal and Nun A in Revenger. She has also appeared in the long-running Pretty Cure franchise, playing a character named Kusama in HUGtto! Pretty Cure, a librarian in Hirogaru Sky! Pretty Cure, and voicing Yamikurage in the 2025 film You and Idol Precure♪ the Movie: For You! Our Kirakilala Concert. Other anime roles include a midwife in the 2019 version of Dororo, a school principal in Anima Yell!, and various characters in the series The Wonderland便利店. Her web animation work includes a role in the Chinese series The Legend of Hei dubbed into Japanese.
Beyond animation, Hanawa has worked extensively in dubbing for live-action films and series. She voiced Zack's mother in the Japanese dub of the 2017 Power Rangers film. Her other dubbing credits include roles in Black Mirror season four, the Chinese animated series Link Click, and the Marvel series Moon Knight. In video games, she voiced the character Hi Huba in the Japanese version of the mobile game Onmyoji.
