Fadu Costa, also known professionally as Faduli Costa, is a Brazilian voice actor based in São Sebastião do Paraíso, Minas Gerais, who has built an extensive career dubbing anime, video games, and live-action films into Brazilian Portuguese. His work in anime is vast and includes many prominent series, with a career that spans several decades. He is known for his long-standing association with the Dragon Ball franchise, where he has voiced the character Shu across multiple series and films, including the new dub of the original Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball GT, Dragon Ball Super, and movies such as Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods and Dragon Ball Super: Broly. He also voiced Mr. Satan in Dragon Ball Z Kai and Mestre Kame in a VHS dub of Dragon Ball Z: Dead Zone. In the One Piece franchise, Costa has voiced numerous characters, including Lucky Roux in the older dub, Gaimon in the new dub, Saint Marcus Mars, and Sanjuan Wolf. His role in the Sonic the Hedgehog series is that of Carl Maluco in the Brazilian Portuguese version of the film. Beyond these franchises, he took on leading roles such as Kikuchiyo in Samurai 7 and Preguiça (Sloth) in Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. He is also recognized for providing the voice of Professor Ochanomizu in the original net animation Pluto and playing Dr. Zarolho in The Super Milk-chan Show. His work in the Pokémon anime includes voicing Professor Elm during the Johto saga, as well as Captain Stern and Contest judge Raoul Contesta. In the Naruto series, he is the voice of the beloved ramen chef Teuchi across the original series, Naruto Shippūden, and multiple related films like The Last: Naruto The Movie and Road to Ninja: Naruto the Movie. He also took over the role of Mayuri Kurotsuchi in the latter half of Bleach. Other notable anime roles include Mu in Monster Rancher, Grey Wolf and Chariot in the same series, Renkotsu in Inuyasha, multiple characters across the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure series including Diamond Is Unbreakable, and appearances in Dorohedoro and Record of Ragnarok. In the Bakugan franchise, he voiced Apollonir in Bakugan Battle Brawlers. His career also encompasses dubbing Western animation, such as the character Algeberto in the Brazilian series Buzzu na Escola Intergaláctica and as the voice of Tivô Ford in the Brazilian dub of Gravity Falls, as well as voicing Yumi's father in Code Lyoko. Throughout his career, Costa has frequently collaborated with a consistent group of fellow Brazilian voice actors and studios, including Luiz Laffey, Wellington Lima, Ricardo Sawaya, and Alexandre Marconato. His notable achievements include voicing iconic characters across several of the world's most enduring and popular anime franchises for decades.
