Description
Juan Luis Aguayo is a Spanish professional voice actor known for his work in anime dubbing. He began his journey into the world of voice acting at a young age, initially exploring dubbing as a hobby by creating fan parodies online before deciding to pursue it as a serious career. He has been a professional voice actor since 2019. Aguayo comes from an artistic family, as his mother is a flamenco singer and his father is a flamenco guitarist, an environment that fostered his creative inclinations from childhood.

Aguayo's career includes a variety of significant roles in popular anime series and films. He is widely recognized for his work in the Dragon Ball franchise, providing the voice for the android Gamma 1 in the film Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, as well as the character Dende in the same movie. In the romantic comedy series Call of the Night, he plays the role of Mahiru Seki. In the film Lonely Castle in the Mirror, Aguayo voices Haruka Ureshino, a first-year junior high student who escapes his isolated reality by entering a magical castle. His other notable anime roles include Chigiri in Blue Lock, Kaldo Gehena in the second season of Mashle, J. A notable recurring collaboration in Aguayo's career is with fellow voice actor Nacho Ruiz-Cruces. The two actors are close friends who trained together and even shared an apartment. Their real-life chemistry was directly utilized in Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, where they were cast as the duo Gamma 1 (Aguayo) and Gamma 2 (Ruiz-Cruces). The dubbing director for the film noted that their genuine friendship and rapport brought an authentic dynamic to the characters, with Aguayo's more reserved personality contrasting with Ruiz-Cruces's extroverted nature, mirroring the on-screen relationship of the Gamma androids.

One of Aguayo's major achievements is his participation in the Dragon Ball franchise, a series he grew up watching and which initially sparked his interest in voice acting through childhood role-playing games with his cousins. His role as Gamma 1 in Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero marked a significant milestone in his professional career, representing a dream realized. In addition to his voice work, Aguayo has been a featured speaker at events such as Japan Weekend in Madrid, where he discusses his career and the dubbing industry.
