Michio Denpō

Michio Denpō was a Japanese actor and voice actor born on March 30, 1932 in Kyoto Prefecture, Japan. His name in Japanese is 伝法三千雄. Denpō stood 160cm tall and weighed approximately 68kg.
Denpō is best known for his voice work in anime, particularly in the Chie the Brat franchise. He voiced the character of Grandpa, also known as Grandpa Takemoto, in both the 1981 television series じゃりン子チエ (Chie the Brat) and the 1991 animated film チエちゃん奮戦記 じゃりン子チエ. These remain his most recognized anime roles.
Beyond the Chie the Brat series, Denpō contributed to other notable anime projects. In 1988, he provided voice work for the critically acclaimed Studio Ghibli film Grave of the Fireflies (火垂るの墓), where he portrayed the characters of Station Worker and Doctor. He also appeared in the 1969 film 極道ペテン師.
In addition to his anime roles, Denpō had a substantial career in live-action television dramas throughout the 1960s, 1970s, and 1990s. His television credits include guest appearances on series such as 旅がらすくれないお仙 (1968), 紫頭巾 (1972), 世なおし奉行 (1972), 素浪人天下太平 (1973), いただき勘兵衛 旅を行く (1973), 神谷玄次郎捕物控 (1990), and 月影兵庫あばれ旅 (1990).
