Dainenbyō
Description
Dainenbyō, also known as Di Nianmiao, is a Chinese manga creator born in 1985. The creator is best known for the series Gunjō no Magmell, which was published internationally under the title Ultramarine Magmell. This work stands as the primary and most significant credit to the creator's name within the anime and manga industry.
Dainenbyō launched the original manga Gunjō no Magmell in June 2015 on Shueisha's Shonen Jump+ digital platform. The series is a fantasy adventure that follows a group of specialized relief workers known as Anglers who rescue explorers on a mysterious and dangerous new continent called Magmell, which has suddenly appeared in the Pacific Ocean. The creator wrote and illustrated the series, and the work was notable for being a Chinese manhua (comic) serialized by a major Japanese publisher. Shueisha published eight volumes of the series in print and digital formats, with the first four volumes released between 2015 and 2017, followed by four more volumes in March and April of 2019.
The success of the manga led to a television anime adaptation. Produced by studio Pierrot+ (a subsidiary of Pierrot), the anime was directed by Hayato Date, with scripts overseen by Chūji Mikasano and music composed by Yasuharu Takanashi. The series premiered in Japan on Tokyo MX and BS Fuji on April 7, 2019. In a January 2019 interview, Dainenbyō stated that the manga was approaching its climax, revealing that the story's development and conclusion had been decided before the creator began drawing the series. Later that year, the 92nd chapter marked the end of the first part of the manga. Thematically, Dainenbyō's work draws from classic shonen adventure tropes, focusing on exploration, mysterious powers, and survival in an untamed world, while featuring a distinctive artistic style that reflects the creator's personal approach to character and creature design.
