Salmiakki is the original creator behind the manga series Rifle Is Beautiful, which is also known by its anime title Chidori RSC. The creator wrote and illustrated this four-panel manga, which follows a group of high school girls who work to revive their school's light-beam rifle shooting club. The series was serialized online in Shueisha's seinen manga magazine Tonari no Young Jump, running from April 9, 2015, to July 2, 2020. Over the course of its publication, the chapters were compiled into six tankōbon volumes released by Shueisha between May 19, 2016, and September 18, 2020.

The work received an anime television adaptation, which was announced in Weekly Young Jump magazine on October 18, 2018. The anime, produced by Studio 3Hz, aired in Japan from October 13, 2019, to January 18, 2020, and was later licensed in North America under the title Chidori RSC. In the context of this adaptation, Salmiakki is credited as the original creator, distinguishing this role from that of the anime's director, scriptwriter, or character designer. The core narrative established by Salmiakki focuses on protagonist Hikari Kokura, an enthusiastic sharpshooter who recruits fellow students Erika Meinohama, Yukio Igarashi, and her childhood friend Izumi Shibusawa to reform the Chidori High School shooting club with the goal of competing nationally.
