Akio Kato is a Japanese voice actor and actor born September 1, 1960, in Tokyo. He is affiliated with the talent agency Aksent. Kato began his entertainment career in the 1980s as a member of the renowned theater company Bungakuza, initially performing on stage and in minor television drama roles before shifting his primary focus to voice acting. His voice is recognized for its rich and versatile quality, allowing him to portray a wide range of characters.

In anime, Kato is known for his long-running role as the general Tō in the series Kingdom. He is also the voice of Bumblebee in the Japanese dubs of the live-action Transformers films.
