Young Dais is a Japanese hip-hop musician, actor, and voice actor born on October 11, 1981 in Asahikawa, Hokkaido, Japan. His professional career is rooted in the music industry, where he performs under the name YOUNG DAIS. He began rapping after returning to Japan from studying in the United States in 2001. He was a member of the hip-hop group NORTH COAST BAD BOYZ, which formed in 2003 and made its major debut in 2004. YOUNG DAIS has released multiple solo albums, beginning with PLAYLIST in 2012, and won a freestyle battle competition in Hokkaido in 2006.

While YOUNG DAIS is primarily known for his music career and live-action film roles, he has contributed to anime as a voice actor. His most prominent anime voice role is Kukun in the Netflix series DEVILMAN crybaby, which was released in 2018. Kukun is a member of a five-man group of street rappers who appear in the series. This role allowed YOUNG DAIS to combine his skills as a rapper with his voice acting work.

YOUNG DAIS is also known for his live-action role as Kai Deguchi in the film Tokyo Tribe, which was released in 2014 and directed by Sion Sono. This role is separate from his anime voice work, but the film is an adaptation of a manga, placing it within the broader sphere of Japanese media adaptations.
