Maiko Irie is a Japanese voice actress, pianist, composer, actress, and model born on February 6, 1993, in Nagasaki City, Nagasaki Prefecture, Japan. She is affiliated with the agency WITH LINE. Her background is deeply rooted in classical music, having begun studying piano at the age of three. She attended Kwassui High School in the piano department on a special scholarship and graduated as valedictorian, later studying at the Tokyo College of Music. Before entering the entertainment industry, she won multiple awards in national piano competitions, including the Frederic Chopin Encouragement Award at the 10th National PIARA Piano Contest.

In 2014, Irie gained recognition as a finalist in the first All Japan National Beautiful Voice Lady Contest, a competition organized by Oscar Promotion and Aoni Production that drew over 14,000 applicants. She won the Blue Oscar NicoNico Award, which led to her affiliation with Oscar Promotion and launched her entertainment career. Her television anime debut as a voice actress came in 2016 with a role as a female student in the series orange. She left Oscar Promotion and joined WITH LINE in August 2017.

Irie has portrayed a range of characters across anime and mobile games. Her notable anime roles include Asahi Miura in Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story, Hatate Himekaidou in Touhou Danmaku Kagura, and minor roles in series such as RPG Fudousan and IDOLiSH7 Third BEAT!. In the gaming space, she has voiced numerous characters in the mobile game Monster Strike, including Cait Sith and Mermaid Lorelei, as well as characters in Hoshin Rebellion, Skyover, and Dragalia Lost.

Irie is best known for her work in the D4DJ multimedia franchise. In September 2022, it was announced that she would assume the role of Rei Togetsu, a member of the unit Happy Around!, replacing the previous voice actress Kanon Shizaki. She began performing the role on October 7, 2022, and features as the character in the anime D4DJ All Mix, which premiered in January 2023, as well as the smartphone game D4DJ Groovy Mix. The official D4DJ website notes that her character, Rei, is a talented pianist from a wealthy family, a trait that aligns naturally with Irie's own extensive musical background.

Beyond her voice work, Irie has performed lead roles in stage musicals, including as the heroine Oyu in Shinsengumi Legends ~ The Life of Okita Souji ~. She is also a member of the voice acting unit MerryFave, formed in 2024. She continues to work as a concert pianist and composer, having created original soundtracks for the Princess Scheherazade's Adventure children's novel series. Among her achievements, she holds several qualifications, including as an Environmental Kaorista, Beauty Therapist, and holds a Japanese Cosmetics Certification. Her cousin is the detective novelist Masahiro Imamura.
