Yū Kawada is a Japanese actor and voice actor from Aichi Prefecture, born on March 9, 1983. He is affiliated with the talent agency Raccoon Dog. Standing approximately 182 centimeters tall with blood type O, Kawada maintains a diverse set of skills that includes strength training, gaming, yo-yo tricks, balloon art, sword fighting, and acrobatics.

Before establishing himself as a voice actor, Kawada first gained recognition as a world champion yo-yo performer, winning titles in 2000 and 2006. His entertainment career began on stage with the 2007 production of Fūma no Kojirō, where he played the role of Yosui, a performance that helped launch his acting path. He later gained wider visibility playing Yuma Megumi, also known as Fire-2, in the 2009 tokusatsu series Tomica Hero Rescue Fire.

Kawada transitioned to voice acting after graduating from the Pro-Fit Voice Acting Training School, officially debuting in the field in 2018. His anime voice credits include Inugasaki in Kami Kuzu Idol, Shogo Takeuchi in Kumichou Musume to Sewagakari, a male student in Insomniacs After School, a soldier in Re:Monster, and a kingdom citizen in NieR Automata Ver1.1a. He has also appeared in Kaijuu-chan, Oroka na Tenshi wa Akuma to Odoru, and provided voices for Demon Slayer Kimetsu no Yaiba, Oshi no Ko, and Remake Our Life. His theatrical anime work includes Umasume Pretty Derby Shindai no Tobira and Eiga Daisuki Pompo-san. In video games, his roles include Eleiga Maieu in Quiz RPG Mahoutsukai to Kuroneko no Wiz, Dr. Morgan in Brown Dust, Pazuzu in Namu Amida Butsu Rendai Utena, and multiple characters in Orient Arcadia.

Throughout his career, Kawada has collaborated extensively with other voice actors, having worked with over one hundred different performers across various titles. Beyond voice work, he continues to be involved in live-action dramas and films, including appearances in Yamikin Ushijima-kun, Double Cheat Kyokaku no Saiban, and Densetsu no Kashira Sho. He has also directed audio dramas such as Hypnosis Mic Fling Posse versus Mad Trigger Crew and contributed to voice comics like Cosmos and Red Blue.

Kawada remains active as a yo-yo performer and promoter, having earned Heaven Artist certification from the Tokyo Metropolitan Government for his street performance skills. He frequently serves as a master of ceremonies for major yo-yo competitions in Japan, including the Japan National Yo-Yo Contest and the World Yo-Yo Contest official broadcasts. From 2013 to 2014, he and his partner Tommy won consecutive championships in the performance division of the World Yo-Yo Contest as the duo Spination.
