His career in performance began with music; he worked as a professional musician and toured with artists such as Laurent Voulzy. He transitioned into acting by winning the role of the voice of Audrey in the French production of the musical Little Shop of Horrors in 1986. This led to small on-screen roles in films like The Big Blue and Nikita, as well as early work with the satirical puppet show Les Guignols de l'info.
De Garrigues is considered a pioneer in French video game voice acting since the 1990s. He is credited with creating the distinct grumbling language and vocal style for Ubisoft's Raving Rabbids, inspired by his work on Rayman. His extensive video game portfolio includes iconic roles such as the Innkeeper in Hearthstone, Muradin Bronzebeard in World of Warcraft, Abe in Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee, the Druid class in Diablo II, Uther the Lightbringer in Warcraft III, and characters like Heimerdinger and Rammus in League of Legends.
Beyond video games, de Garrigues has voiced a wide array of roles in animation. The Dumpster Battle. His other significant animation voice roles include the bear Grizzy in Grizzy and the Lemmings, Ambrosius and Zarès in The Mysterious Cities of Gold, and a demon in Helluva Boss.
With a career spanning over thirty-seven years, de Garrigues has participated in more than forty-five thousand recordings across advertising, documentaries, corporate films, television, and video games. He is known for his remarkable vocal versatility, capable of producing both deep, smooth tones and high-energy, frantic performances. In 2018, he was briefly replaced as the voice of the Hearthstone Innkeeper after inadvertently revealing an unreleased card from the game while trying to generate excitement for it. He has also founded a professional association for voice actors called lesvoix.fr.
