Ane Aseginolaza
Description
Ane Aseginolaza is a voice actress known for her work in the Basque-language dubbing of anime, most notably as the voice of Doraemon in the long-running series about the robotic cat from the future. She is recognized as one of the pioneering voices in the Basque dubbing industry, which began to take shape in the 1980s with the regional broadcaster Euskal Irrati Telebista.
Aseginolaza's most prominent role was providing the Basque voice for Doraemon. She voiced the character for the first 1082 episodes of the 1979 Doraemon anime series. She also continued in the role for the first 1082 episodes of the 2005 remake series, Doraemon. Her contribution to the franchise was acknowledged when she was invited to participate in a special tribute event, Gora eta gora beti, Doraemon eta lagunak, held during the Animedon section of the 36th Semana de Cine Fantástico y de Terror in Donostia-San Sebastián in 2025. At this event, she shared her experiences of dubbing the series for many years alongside Arantxa Moñux, the Basque voice of Nobita.
Beyond her signature role as Doraemon, Aseginolaza voiced the character of Rottenmeier in the Basque dub of the classic anime Heidi, Girl of the Alps. This dub was produced in the 1980s, making it one of the first anime series to be translated into the Basque language.
