Yōko Oginome

Description
Yōko Oginome is a Japanese singer, actress, and former voice actor who rose to prominence as a pop idol in the mid-1980s. Her career as a voice actor, though brief, began during her junior high school years when she auditioned for a part in a live-action film. While she did not get that role, she was subsequently cast for voice work in a new anime series from the same production company, Kitty Film.

This opportunity led to her debut voice role as the heroine Miyuki Wakamatsu in the 1983 anime television series Miyuki, which was based on the manga by Mitsuru Adachi. Following this, she voiced the character Ai Itō in the motorcycle racing anime film and original video animation Baribari Densetsu (also known as Baribari Legend) in 1986. In addition to providing the voice for Ai Itō, she also performed the theme songs for this project. Her other notable voice role from this period was as the character Planet-chan in the children's television series Ugo Ugo Rūga, which aired in the early 1990s.

Oginome's work as a voice actor was concentrated in the early to mid-1980s, as her successful music career and live-action television roles in dramas soon became the primary focus of her professional life. Her voice acting roles remain closely associated with this early period of her career in the entertainment industry.
