Ayako Ito is a Japanese voice actor born on August 3, 1980, in Mie Prefecture, Japan. She began her career in the early 2000s, with her first credited voice roles appearing in 2001.
Her early work consisted primarily of supporting and guest roles in a range of anime television series and films. In her first years active, she contributed minor character voices to popular long-running series such as Hikaru no Go, Hajime no Ippo, and Super GALS!. Her film work during this period included roles in the movie Patlabor WXIII and the OVA adaptation of the video game Memories Off.
Throughout the 2000s, Ito continued to build her filmography with guest spots in numerous series, including episodes of Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Cyborg 009 The Cyborg Soldier, and Naruto. In 2005, she landed one of her more prominent roles as Sakuya Kazamatsuri in the television series Koi Koi Seven. That same year, she was also part of the cast for Gakuen Alice. Her other credited roles include the character Kuroro in the series Gokiburi-chan and the character Tanabe in the sports anime Major, as well as its subsequent theatrical film, Major: Yūjō no Ikkyū.
Beyond voice acting, Ito has been involved in other aspects of anime production. She performed the opening theme song and an insert song for the 2005 series Koi Koi Seven. In a notable career expansion, she later moved into directing, serving as the director for the television anime Sentai Red Isekai de Bōkensha ni Naru, which began airing in 2025. Her work in the industry has also included dubbing foreign live-action projects into Japanese, such as the series Cory in the House and the film The Evil Dead.
