Kana Harada is the birth name of the Japanese voice actress professionally known as Kana Asumi. She is a voice actress and singer born on August 12, 1983 in Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan. Her career began in 1999 when she became a member of the local Fukuoka idol group Koume Five. She later participated in a voice actor选拔会 (audition) for the video game Cross World in February 2005 and won a role alongside Yuka Iguchi and Ai Tokunaga.

Her professional debut in anime was a minor role as a waitress and choir member in the series Canvas 2: Niji-iro no Sketch in 2005. Her breakthrough came in 2007 when she voiced the lead role of Yuno in the series Hidamari Sketch and the role of Ran in Shugo Chara!. In 2010, she appeared in the live-action film adaptation Space Battleship Yamato, where she played the role of Sasaki under her birth name, Kana Harada.

Throughout her career, she has been affiliated with the talent agencies Voice & Heart from 2006 to 2007, and she has been with 81 Produce since early 2008. From July 2010 to July 2011, she was a member of the voice acting unit LISP alongside Azusa Kataoka and Sayuri Hara.

She has voiced numerous major characters in popular anime series. These include Popura Taneshima in Working!!, Nyaruko in Haiyore! Nyaruko-san, Komari Koshigaya in Non Non Biyori, Marika Tachibana in Nisekoi, Hinata Kuraue in Yama no Susume, Chihiro Kosaka in The World God Only Knows, Ene in Mekakucity Actors, and Blanc or White Heart in the Hyperdimension Neptunia series. Her filmography also includes roles in Angel Beats! as Irie, Black Rock Shooter as Yū Kōtari or Strength, and Strike the Blood as Reina Akatsuki.

In recognition of her work, she has received multiple accolades at the Seiyu Awards in Japan. She won the award for Best New Actress at the 3rd Seiyu Awards in 2009. She later won the award for Best Lead Actress at the 7th Seiyu Awards in 2013. That same year, she also won the Singing Award as part of the group "G" from the back, which included her Haiyore! Nyaruko-san co-stars.
