Odeko Fujii

Description
Odeko Fujii is a Japanese manga artist and the original creator behind the comedy series Cute Executive Officer, known in Japanese as Yōjo Shachō. Fujii began serializing the manga online in January 2018 via the Curazy Manga website, and the series was also made available on Kadokawa Shoten’s ComicWalker platform. The manga is published by Kadokawa Shoten, and as of January 2021, it has been collected into three tankōbon volumes.

The series centers on Najimu Mujina, a very ordinary five-year-old girl who inexplicably serves as the president of a company, navigating adult situations with childish logic and energy. In 2019, Cute Executive Officer was nominated for the fifth Next Manga Awards in the digital category.

The success of the manga led to an anime adaptation. On September 30, 2020, Fujii announced that the series would be adapted into an anime. This adaptation premiered as an original net animation, or ONA, on January 1, 2021. Produced by the animation studio Project No.9, the first season consists of thirteen short episodes. A second season, titled Cute Executive Officer R, was subsequently announced on September 18, 2022, and aired from July to September 2023. In all anime productions, Fujii is consistently credited as the original creator.

Beyond Cute Executive Officer, Fujii has been credited as the author and artist for other manga works, including Sekai wa Neko de Dekiteiru: Short Neko Essay and Fujii Odeko Gekijou. Fujii is identified as female, and her birthday is listed as September 30, though the year of her birth is not publicly documented.
