Mameko Mamekichi is the original creator of the manga series Mamekichi Mameko NEET no Nichijō, which is also known as Mameko Mamekichi's Daily NEET Life. The creator publishes this work as an autobiographical essay manga on their blog. The series chronicles the daily life of a NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) and is drawn from Mamekichi's own experiences and feelings during periods of unemployment.

The manga began serialization on the creator's blog in January 2015. The series centers on the author's alter ego, a young woman named Mameko, who lives a carefree, idle life with her dog Komachi and three cats named Tabi, Simba, and Melo. The narrative is presented in a slice-of-life, comedic format through episodic vignettes. The humor derives from Mameko's lack of ambition, her promises to change that are quickly abandoned, and the quirky interactions with her pets who are depicted with distinct personalities.

Mamekichi Mameko's work has been adapted into other media. A live-action mini-series adaptation was produced and debuted prior to the anime. A television anime adaptation was announced in September 2022. The anime is a short-form series consisting of 48 episodes, each with a duration of approximately one and a half minutes. It was produced by Tezuka Productions, directed by Satoshi Kuwabara, and began airing in October 2022 on Fuji TV and its affiliated channels. The cast includes Akari Kito as the voice of the protagonist Mamekichi Mameko, with Kenta Miyake, Manami Numakura, Wataru Hatano, Taichi You, and Akio Otsuka in other roles.

The creator's significance lies in the autobiographical and essayistic nature of the work, which provides a humorous and relatable perspective on NEET culture in contemporary Japan. The series has been published in print by Kadokawa Shoten, with the first volume released in August 2018. The work has also been distributed internationally by Fuji Creative Corporation.
