George Coe

Description
George Coe was an American actor whose career spanned over five decades, including significant work as a voice actor in animation, film, and video games. He was born on May 10, 1929, in Jamaica, Queens, New York City, and passed away on July 18, 2015, at the age of 86. While he was primarily known as a live-action character actor on stage and screen, he built a notable body of voice work in the later part of his career.

In the world of animation and voice-over, Coe is perhaps best recognized for his role as Woodhouse, the long-suffering valet, on the FX animated series Archer. His other voice credits in western animation include roles on shows such as Star Wars: The Clone Wars, The Legend of Korra, and Celebrity Deathmatch. He also provided voice work for several major video game titles, including The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Star Wars: The Old Republic, and Guild Wars 2.

Within the Transformers franchise, George Coe provided the voice for the Autobot scientist Que, a character who also bore the name Wheeljack, in the 2011 live-action film Transformers: Dark of the Moon. This role is a key example of his voice acting work for a major film property.

Beyond his voice roles, Coe was one of the original cast members of Saturday Night Live and received an Academy Award nomination for a short film in 1968. He was also a dedicated union activist, serving on the national board of the Screen Actors Guild for approximately fourteen years and receiving the Ralph Morgan Award for his service from the Hollywood Division of SAG in 2009.
