James Remar is an American screen and voice actor born on December 31, 1953, who has established a substantial career in voice acting for animated series, films, and video games. While best known for his extensive live-action roles, including Harry Morgan in Dexter and Ajax in The Warriors, Remar has become a recognizable voice in Western animation with particular prominence in superhero and action-oriented genres.

In the realm of anime and anime-influenced animation, Remar voiced Tonraq, the father of the title character, in the animated series The Legend of Korra. This role earned him a Behind the Voice Actors Award for People's Choice Voice Acting Award. He also portrayed the character Vilgax in Ben 10: Alien Force and Ben 10: Ultimate Alien, stepping into the role of the series' primary alien antagonist.
