Minoru Uchida was a Japanese actor and voice actor born on March 18, 1927, in Okayama Prefecture, Japan. He began his acting career on stage, making his debut in 1951 with the Literary Theater. In 1963, he was among the founders of the theater company Kumo, and he was later affiliated with Gekidan Subaru. Uchida passed away on April 2, 2018, at the age of 91.

As a voice actor, Uchida is known for several significant anime roles. He portrayed Tatsumi in the original video animation Rurouni Kenshin: Trust & Betrayal. In the live-action television series Lone Wolf and Cub, he played the role of Shibusawa Tanomo. His other anime and animated film credits include General Khaidenn in the movie Royal Space Force - The Wings of Honnêamise, Merlin in the video game Kingdom Hearts II, and a role in the film A Thousand & One Nights.

Uchida had an extensive career in dubbing foreign films and animated features for Japanese audiences. Among his many dubbing roles are the Japanese voices for characters including Littlefoot's grandfather in The Land Before Time, the Ringmaster in Dumbo, Amphitryon in Hercules, King Dymas in Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas, Captain Neweyes in We're Back! A Dinosaur's Story, and Pete in various Disney productions. He also provided the Japanese dub voice for actor Henry Fonda in several films and for Colonel Sam Trautman, played by Richard Crenna, in the Rambo series.

For his contributions to drama, Minoru Uchida was honored with the Kinokuniya Theater Award. He is remembered for his versatile performances across stage, film, and voice acting, as well as for introducing generations of Japanese viewers to iconic characters from Western cinema.
