Airi Taira is a Japanese actress who began her career in entertainment after winning a talent competition in 1999. While primarily known for her work in live-action film and television, she entered the field of anime voice acting in 2026.

Taira gained widespread recognition for her portrayal of Kanna Endo in the live-action film trilogy adaptation of the manga 20th Century Boys, released between 2008 and 2009. She was selected for the role from an audition process that involved approximately three thousand applicants. For her performance in the second and third films of the series, 20th Century Boys 2: The Last Hope and 20th Century Boys 3: Redemption, she received the Japan Academy Film Prize for Newcomer of the Year.

Taira made her debut as a voice actor in an anime with the 2026 film Doraemon the Movie: Nobita and the New Castle of the Undersea Devil, the forty-fifth installment in the Doraemon film franchise. In addition to serving as a promotional ambassador for the film, she provided a guest voice for the role of an underwater soldier who pursues the main characters. Her involvement in the project was announced in January 2026, and the film was released in Japan on February 27, 2026.
