Miyako Takeuchi

Description
Miyako Takeuchi is a Japanese actress and voice actress born on February 5, 1962, in Osaka Prefecture, Japan. In addition to her on-screen performance work, she has built a career as a voice actor for anime and animated films, often for major franchise productions. Her professional background is notably diverse; beyond acting, she has also worked as a comedian, a reporter, and a talent, reflecting a broad presence in Japanese entertainment media. She attended the Osaka University of Arts but did not graduate.

Takeuchi is best known for a single, long-running voice role that has made her a familiar presence to multiple generations of anime viewers. Since 2005, she has been the voice of Gian's Mother (also known as Mrs. Goda) in the long-running television series Doraemon. This recurring role has extended into the franchise's feature films as well. Her film voice credits in the Doraemon series include Stand By Me Doraemon (2014), Doraemon: Nobita's Space Heroes (2015), Doraemon: Shin Nobita no Nihon tanjō (Doraemon: New Nobita's Great Demon, 2016), and several other theatrical releases.

While the user provided the role of Setsuko Ichihara in 20th Century Boys as an example of her work, it is important to clarify the nature of that credit. Takeuchi portrayed the character of Setsuko Ichihara, but she did so in the live-action film adaptations of the manga, not in an anime series. She performed this role in the 2008 film 20th Century Boys and its 2009 sequel, 20th Century Boys 2: The Last Hope. Her other voice work includes the character Tomiko in the 2011 film Éclair: A Story of Sweets and Wanderings. Beyond her voice roles, she has an extensive career as a live-action actress, appearing in numerous Japanese television dramas such as Carnation, Brother Beat, and Dr. DMAT, as well as films like The Projects (Danchi) and In This Corner of the World.
